While we are in these communities (preferably well established communities btw) We take notes on as much as possible. Including but not limited to:

• Member persona
• How are they reaching the different types of community members? (i.e. devs, designers, biz dev professionals, lurkers, etc)
• Where are their members are based out of (the majority, that is)
• What their member growth is like (if possible, not all communities show this information)
• What is their channel structure like?
• What is the engagement in those channels? What is/isnt working?
• What are some of the tools/bots they are using that we arent?
• What type of events are they hosting? Are the collaborating? If so what does that look like?
• What is the participation in those events? What is/isnt working?
• How do they keep things professional while also being fun/engaging?
• Overall culture within these communities? What is the vibe? (i.e. educational, social, professional, etc.)
