When it comes to DAO platforms Aragon is an industry leader. It has been a perfect fit for many use cases in recent years, and its next steps will address the current and future use cases of this growing ecosystem.
The DAOs of today require much more flexibility given the increasing list of use cases and the goals that are pursued. In addition, the target user of DAOs, throughout the years defined as a highly technical individual with a vast knowledge of web3, is gradually being replaced by individuals comprising various profiles and different backgrounds. This new demographic, although way less tech-savvy, represents a much larger market, ready to be enticed by a more user-friendly DAO platform.
For these reasons, we are bringing forward the next generation of the Aragon DAO platform. A platform that will leverage our past achievements without any constraints; adapting and re-building what is obsolete.
The next generation Aragon solution is a three-layer design: new smart contracts as the atomic layer for governance; an SDK and design system that enables standardization and interoperability for both lower and higher layers; and Aragon App, the highest layer and human-centered, optimized for accessibility and adaptability.
These are the areas that the App Guild will be focusing in the coming years and we will make it easier:
For new builders to create and manage their DAOs with a no-code human-centric cross-platform application, as well as easy access to a vast set of DAO utilities in a seamless way [e.g. integrating liquidity pools to their token, streaming payments to contributors, gating access to their documents, etc.]
For DAOs to govern themselves. Ensuring less tech-savvy members can follow a simple and straightforward process for getting up to speed on proposals as well as participating in them.
For internal and external developers in the ecosystem to bring their own utilities to Aragon DAOs.
And,
We will surface educational content throughout the user experience, providing safety and trust for users to make decisions.
We will research and track what DAO builders using the app actually want or need, and bring these insights to the Aragon Network.
